Diazepam

Diazepam is a medication in the benzodiazepine class.

Diazepam is highly lipophilic and has a fast onset of action

Metabolism of diazepam results in the active metabolites oxazepam, desmethyldiazepam, and temazepam. These metabolites increase the duration of drug action and can have an impact in older adults and in those with extensive hepatic disease.[1]
